The #.# billion expansion reached substantial completion in May 2019, adding 478,000 sqr ft. of new facilities in the University of California Merced Campus. BTY was engaged to provide Lenders’ Technical Advisory services starting at the Pre-Bid stage transitioning to contraction monitoring services all the way to substantial completion.
BTY’s Lender’s Technical Advisory (LTA) team was actively involved in reviewing the technical, financial and contractual components of this project. During the design stage of this project, we completed technical due diligence review which included potential design issues, Design/Build Contractor costs, assets life-cycle performance, sustainable design initiatives, construction schedules, and project agreements.
As the project began construction in August 2016, BTY transitioned to the LTA’s construction monitoring role. Our professionals conducted routine monthly inspections to record progress on the project and ensure that the scope of work was being completed as per the contractual requirements. We also provided commentary on potential issues and analysed construction draws which were summarized in our monthly reports.
