The project involves the construction of a multi-purpose sports and entertainment facility encompassing an NHL hockey rink in Edmonton’s renowned ICE District. The project also includes a pedestrian bridge corridor to a light rail transit connection.

Regina Stadium Revitalization

Regina, SK

The project involved the design and construction of the new home of the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders. The facility is an open-air stadium with a gross floor area of approximately 522,000 square feet and a minimum capacity to seat 31,000 spectators and temporary seating to accommodate for up to 40,000 spectators. The project also required 67,000 square feet of leasable area for the SRFC and an additional 10,000 square feet for SKSport.

McMahon Stadium

Calgary, Alberta

This project involved upgrading the lower concourse, upper concourse, club lounge, bunker suites and bleachers of the existing 35,400 seat stadium.

Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games

British Columbia

BTY played a significant role in the bid, design and construction phases of the venues for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC, Canada. As part of the bid submission to the International Olympic Committee, BTY was selected to provide technical advisory services to the Whistler 2010 Bid Committee, including development of capital cost estimates, constructability and scheduling logistics, and construction cash-flows.

Once the games were awarded to the City of Vancouver, BTY was retained on many of the venues included in the 2010 Olympic portfolio, providing cost estimating, constructability and schedule reviews, value engineering and change order management services for both pre-Olympics and legacy conversion phases. Venues in our portfolio included the Richmond Olympic Oval ($178 million), the Vancouver Olympic/Paralympic Center ($70 million), the Whistler Olympic Sliding Center ($105 million), the Vancouver Athletes’ Village ($1.2 billion) and the Whistler Athletes’ Village ($32 million).

Toronto 2015 Pan & Parapan American Games Portfolio

BTY played a significant role in the bid, design and construction phases of the venues for the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games in Toronto, ON, Canada. We were retained to provide Technical Advisory, Independent Certifier, Cost Management and Construction Phase Monitoring services on several of the Games’ venues, including the Pan/Parapan American Games Athletes’ Village (CAD $514 million), the Pan/Parapan American Games Aquatics Center (CAD $159 million), the Pan/Parapan American Games Athletic Center (CAD $186 million), the Ivor Wynne Stadium Redevelopment (CAD $152 million) and the Goldring Center for High Performance (CAD $65 million).

Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport

The 118,403 sf project is designed to house research and teaching labs, a strength and conditioning centre, a state-of-the-art sport medicine clinic and a 2000-seat basketball and volleyball court in the field house and will host futsal and other court related sports as part of the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games.
