As the Independent Certifier for the BC Children’s and Women’s Redevelopment Phase 2 Project, BTY is delighted to congratulate both Affinity Partnerships and the Provincial Health Services Authority on achieving Service Commencement.

The Project which has a CAPEX of circa $400m,will be completed over three phases.  Phase 1 opened in November 2012. Phase 2, involves the development of the new Teck Acute Care Centre which will house patient care services from both BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre to ensure that they have the facilities that they need to maintain the highest standards of care for critically ill children from across the province.  The future Phase 3 will include the relocation of Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children to the Oak Street campus and expansion of the birthing program for BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre.

BTY’s Independent Certifier team involved Vancouver based Partner, Gord Smith; Director, Nicholas Burrows; and Senior Project Consultant, Hannah Owens.

The BC Children’s and Women’s Redevelopment Phase 2 Project is one of five BTY Independent Certifier projects to achieve Substantial Completion or Service Commencement in H1, 2017.
