BTY was proud to take part in the Kodak Building Move event on August 25, 2016 as part of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project team.
The event brought together public and private sector project team members and local community to watch the iconic 3,000-tonne Kodak building, which had been separated from its foundation, be moved 200 feet on steel girders from its original location.
The move will allow the project team to excavate and build the underground portion of the future Mount Dennis LRT Station. Once this portion is completed, the building will be moved back to its original location to serve as one of three entrances for the future station.
The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is one the biggest transportation P3 projects in North America. The $5.3 billion project comprises a 19km light-rail route with 25 stations and stops. BTY is acting as the Independent Certifier services between the project parties. We are also providing construction phase monitoring, payment certification, dispute resolution and the certification of Substantial Completion.
