Starting off the #P32016 conference week in Toronto, the 2nd Annual Women Leaders in P3 Dinner took place on November 13th, and included top experts in the construction and P3 advisory industries from across Canada.
The event is hosted each year by BTY and INTECH Risk Management with the specific goal of celebrating the achievements of women leaders through an evening of intimate networking over great food.
Marie Foley, BTY’s P3 Advisory Lead, believes the event is a unique one in the busy schedule of Toronto’s P3 conference week. “Building on the success of last year, the event has continued to grow without compromising our goal of making this a celebratory evening of sharing a meal with amazing women,” said Marie.
Hosted in one of the city’s best new restaurants, Taverna Mercatto, attendees were treated to wine tasting and a full sit-down dinner that allowed women from various fields to share thoughtful and entertaining conversations about working in the industry.
Sarah Roberts, President of INTECH Risk Management, noted that there is a lot of value in attending an event that brings together the best in the Canadian P3 market under one venue. “We don’t all often get the opportunity to have relaxed and meaningful discussions with leaders this way,” said Sarah.
The organizers have received great feedback from the attendees about the event’s success and the need for it to continue.
Daniella Vidal, INTECH’s Marketing and Communications Coordinator, also noted more opportunities for emerging leaders to learn from seasoned experts in attendance. “As this has grown from last year, we have seen more of a mix of young professionals who find the event very useful for exposure to potential mentors.”
