North Vancouver’s, Lionsgate Waste Water Treatment Plant is a new facility that will replace the existing plant - a primary treatment facility that has been in operation since 1961.
Using cutting edge technology to achieve a high degree of automation, this Design Build Finance (DBF) project involves the construction of a secondary wastewater treatment plant for the Greater Vancouver Sewer & Drainage District. It will comply with Metro Vancouver’s Integrated Liquid Waste and Resource Management Plan requiring that all primary treatment plants be upgraded to secondary treatment plants. Construction is targeted for completion by 2020 and will comply with regulations and standards adopted by federal and provincial environment ministers.
